Is there really an art to forgiving? It’s easy right? You just say - I forgive you - and it’s done. Or is it really?
Forgiveness can be a tricky thing. Where do we start? Is someone else always to blame? What about forgiving ourselves and our underlying belief patterns? Would self forgiveness be the first crucial step to ultimate freedom?
Forgiveness has benefits such as: healthier relationships (with self and others), less anxiety, stress and hostility, stronger immune system and higher self esteem. Forgiveness has benefits for ourselves along with everyone around us. When we forgive ourselves and others, we are able to experience a shift from being a victim to being empowered by our new liberation.
If forgiveness feels almost impossible to you, start small. Start with yourself. Start with forgiving yourself for believing that forgiveness is impossible. It may just be your first important step towards freedom.
